GRAHAM Cox came up of the rails to win PGA North Region Overseas Pro-am at Quinta Do Lago in Portugal.
The Davenport assistant, eight shots behind runaway leader Gary Wolstenholme at the half-way stage, overtook the 2011 European Senior Tour rookie of the year with a fourth and final round of 74 to prevail by three with a four-under-par total.
In testing conditions, Carus Green-attached Gary Wolstenholme, the world's most capped amateur before turning professional, signed off with an 80 after dropping four strokes on the last three holes.
Cox leaked three on his opening two holes and an indication of the toughness of the course was illustrated by his card which revealed only seven pars.
Garstang professional Will Barnes claimed third place, matching Cox's 74 for a plus two aggregate.
