2012 Opens at Boothferry Golf Club

Entries have now opened for the open competitions to be played at Boothferry Golf Club.

The first competition is their annual Junior Open on Sunday 3rd June. This Individual Stableford is open to juniors with a handicap of up to 36 and has an entry-fee of just £10.

A Gents Team Open on Saturday 9th June represents superb value at £80 per team of four. The format is an AM-AM with early entry strongly advised.

A Ladies Team Open takes place later in the month on Friday 29th June. Again it's an AM-AM and has an entry-fee of £52 per team of four.

Senior golfers flock to the senior open competitions at Boothferry so once again players are advised to enter as soon as possible. The Summer Senior Pairs Open will be held on Tuesday 3rd July whilst the Autumn Senior Pairs Open takes place on Thursday 4th October. Both events are Betterball Stableford format and are open to players aged over 55 years.

The Mixed Pairs Open at Boothferry is another popular tournament. It's a Betterball Stableford on Sunday 22nd July and costs £24 per couple.

A Texas Scramble is scheduled for Sunday 16th September and has an entry-fee of £76 per team whilst a Winter Team Open on Saturday 3rd November - also £76 per team - concludes events at this East Yorkshire course. Although both are still quite a long way off they fill up quickly so don't delay if you want to secure a tee-time.

About Boothferry
Designed by legendary modern day golf course architect, Donald Steel, Boothferry Golf Club is one of the most enjoyable meadowland courses in Yorkshire, popular with many visiting golfers.

This established course in a tranquil setting within the Vale of York is a pleasing test featuring natural dykes that occasionally provide additional challenges on a number of holes!

The course is easy walking and quite flat making it particularly attractive to the more mature golfer as well as the younger ones. During the summer months, a fleet of golf buggies are available for hire.

Boothferry is well worth a visit, with easy access from the B1228, 3 miles north of Howden (exit M62 at junction 36), or 2 miles west off the A614 from Holme-on-Spalding-Moor.
