Entries close soon for the Northern Matchplay

Entries for the 2011 Northern Matchplay Golf Championship, dubbed as The Race to Alwoodley, close at the end of this month.

Entry is just £15 per person for the Singles competition or £25 per pair for the Betterball event. The overall champions win a luxury 5-star golfing holiday to Spain.

The first round is played on a 'home & away' basis, which guarantees you at least one round away from your home club (many courses offer courtesy). 

Early rounds are played on a regional basis to minimise travelling.

The aim is to reach the 36 hole regional final at one of six truly fantastic 'top 100' venues.

• Cheshire - regional final at Wallasey
• Cumbria - regional final at Silloth on Solway
• Durham - regional final at Seaton Carew
• Lancashire - regional final at West Lancs
• Northumberland - regional final at Goswick
• Yorkshire - regional final at Pannal

The winners at each regional final will progress to an expenses paid two-day, 72 hole grand final at the famous Alwoodley Golf Club near Leeds. Golf, food and accommodation are all provided.

Entry is open to male golfers aged 16+ with an active CONGU handicap - enter now!



First Prize

The overall winners in both the individual and pairs section at the Northern Matchplay Grand Final will win a wonderful g olfing trip to Spain.

The prize is provided by our main sponsor, Golf de la Luz, a golf holiday company with years of experience specialising in golf breaks to the Eastern Algarve of Portugal and the Costa de la Luz.
