The 2011 Gtour Race to Cyprus season got off to a fantastic start on Saturday 19th February at De Vere Staverton Park, Northamptonshire.
In difficult conditions Kevin King came out on top and gained maximum Order of Merit points as all the players look ahead to the grand final at Aphrodite Hills, Cyprus.
On a day where everything went right King was happy with his performance:
A solid debut performance on tour from Thomas Jones helped him claim the top prize in the Eagle tier followed by Graham Miles and Gary walker respectively.
In the birdie tier behind overall winner King, Lee Parnham and Jayson Liu collected prizes on the day and put themselves in good position for the season ahead.
The top 52 will head to a two day semi-final at De Vere Belton Woods with the top 10 moving forward to the grand final and booking their place on the plane to Cyprus.
With three new dates added already, Friday 11 March at De Vere Oulton Hall, Saturday 2 July at Moor Allerton Golf club and Saturday 16 July at Mannings Heath Golf Club the tour is ever growing in stature.
A sell out field of 52 players played in the first event and with the next two already booked up you have to be quick if you want to be involved in the best amateur tour around.
Membership is free and all you have to do is log on at www.gtour.co.uk and sign up for the next available event.
