Three golf courses in Nottinghamshire have recently had their 2009 open golf competitions added to the Golf Empire website and are taking entries for their open events.

Immingham Golf Club

Two exciting ladies open events have recently been listed on Golf Empire at Immingham Golf Club in Lincolnshire.

Both events are team competitions and will take place on the 30th April and 20th August. The cost of entry is £36 and £40 per team respectively.

Ashby Decoy Golf Club in Lincolnshire have four excellent senior open golf competitions now available to enter in 2009.

Came Down Golf Club

Nine open golf competitions to be played later this year are now available to enter at Came Down Golf Club in Dorset.

Carholme Golf Club

Three open golf competitions at Carholme Golf Club, Lincolnshire, are now listed on the Golf Empire website which will take place later this year.

Events include two team opens on the 24th May and 27th June plus a gents pairs open on the 6th September.

Both team opens cost £40 per team whilst the gents pairs event offers excellent value for money at just £18 per pair.

Baildon Golf Club

A team open will take place at Baildon Golf Club on the outskirts of Bradford in Yorkshire on the 5th July 2009.

Cost is £40 per team and can consist of any combination of gents or ladies. An entry-form is available here.

Mendip Golf Club

Mendip Golf Club now have their 2009 open golf competitions listed on www.golfempire.co.uk. There are 18 events in total so there is sure to be something of interest for those golfers looking to play in open golf comps in Somerset.

HSBC Wee Wonders - 2009 Registration Now Open!

Registration is now open for the 2009 HSBC Wee Wonders Golf Championships.

Golf Empire have teamed up with HSBC to become a recognised supporter of the series of junior golf tournaments. More information about dates and venues plus a link to the official entry-form can be found on the HSBC Wee Wonders Championships page of the Golf Empire (www.golfempire.co.uk) website.

The HSBC Wee Wonders Championships is a series of junior golf events that give boys and girls aged five to twelve a way to progress from coaching competitions into competitive golf.

Played on courses across the UK and Ireland, your child will get the chance to see how they score against others their age. Split into seven age groups, each competitor has 36 strokes to play the course, and shall place a flag where their final shot comes to rest. The winner in each age group is the competitor whose ball is furthest around the golf course after his or her 36th shot.

In 2009 there are over 100 local qualifying venues throughout the UK split into 9 regions where youngsters will aim to progress to one of the Regional Finals. Around 5,000 golfers are expected tp take part this year!

Successful participants at the Regional Finals will move to the Grand Final that is played in August at St. Andrews, the home of golf.

Founded by Alasdair Good, PGA Head Professional at Gullane Golf Club, the HSBC Wee Wonders Championships is a national junior golf event for the whole of Great Britain & Ireland. Boys and girls can enjoy the challenge and fun of competitive golf in an environment where the life lessons learnt by the youngsters are as important as the game itself.
