JACK Brooks followed up his second place in the Prestbury Open two days earlier by winning the Pleasington Antlers to move seventh in the Mitsushiba Northern Order of Merit after 12 events.
The 2007 Lancashire Boys’ champion made the most of home advantage with rounds of 69 and 72 for a one-under-par aggregate and a two stroke victory over Shaw Hill’s Tony Holt.
Brooks posted a flawless morning card revealing birdies at the 14th and 17th and picked up three more shots in the afternoon but gave back four. Fifth placed Mark Young, from Longridge, held on to top spot in the merit he is attempting to win for a record three years in a row but his Lancashire team-mate Tommy Fleetwood, reduced his lead to 20 points by finishing fourth on countback.
